The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a once-a-year all-India entrance examination for MBBS admission. According to the NMC Act 2019, the NEET Undergraduate (UG) is the single entrance exam for admission to all medical colleges across India, including the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER).
From 2012 onwards, the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) was replaced by the National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test (UG), also known as NEET-UG. NEET is a competitive entrance exam for admission to MBBS and BDS degrees held by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) until 2018.
As per the eligibility criteria of NEET applicant must be at least 17 years old. The maximum age limit for appearing in NEET is 25 years for General category and 30 years for SC / ST / OBC category candidates. Also, candidates must have passed or appearing in for class 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Bio-Technology (PCB) subjects with 50% and for SC, ST and OBC category 40%.

NEET UG is the medical entrance examination for undergraduate courses such as MBBS and BDS. NEET PG is the entrance examination for postgraduate courses such as MD, MS, MDS, and doctoral diplomas in Indian colleges.

From 2022 onwards, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will be in charge of administering the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET). The NTA is also in charge of announcing the outcome. It usually takes a month for the NEET results to be released. Students who took the NEET (UG) exams can see their results through the NTA's official website.
