Intel 8086 Architecture
The 8086 microprocessor features two main processing units: the Execution Unit (EU) and the Bus Interface Unit (BIU). Unlike the 8085, where buses are idle during internal execution, the 8086 speeds up processing through parallel execution. The BIU fetches instructions and stores them in a queue, while the EU continuously executes them, enhancing efficiency. Segment registers and offset registers further increase memory addressing capacity, contributing to the processor's overall performance.
