प्रश्न

A card is drawn at random from a pack of 52 cards. Find the probability that the card drawn is not a black card.

उत्तर

Let S denote the sample space.
Then, n(S) = 52

Let E12 = event of drawing a non-black card
We know that there are 26 non-black cards, i.e. 13 diamonds and 13 hearts.
Then n (E12) = 26

\[\therefore P\left( E_{12} \right) = \frac{n\left( E_{12} \right)}{n\left( S \right)} = \frac{26}{52} = \frac{1}{2}\]
