प्रश्न

A company gives x% dividend on its Rs. 60 shares, whereas the return on the investment in these shares is (x + 3) %. If the market value of each share is Rs. 50, find the value of x.

उत्तर

Nominal value of 1 share = Rs. 60
Market value of 1 share = Rs. 50

Dividend% = x%
Return% = (x+3)%
According to question
x% of Rs. 60 = (x+3)% of Rs. 50

⇒ `x/100 ×Rs. 60 = (x+3)/100 ×Rs. 50`
⇒ 60x = 50x + 150
⇒ 10x = 150
⇒ x = `150/10` = 15.
