We refer to this phenomena as incomplete dominance. When two alleles (genes) of an allelomorphic pair partially express themselves, an intermediate hybrid is produced in the Fl generation, a condition known as incomplete dominance. Between the two initial phenotypes in this instance, a new phenotype emerges.
