MCQ

उत्तर

a party recognised by the 'Election Commission' with all the privileges and facilities.

Explanation:

Only one of the following three elements must be met for a registered party to be recognised as a National Party:

  1. A party wins 2% of Lok Sabha seats (as of 2014, 11 seats) from at least three separate states; or
  2. A party polls 6% of votes in four states and wins 4 Lok Sabha seats from any state or states; or
  3. A party is recognised as a State Party in four or more states.

Parties that are recognised as such are granted unique symbols that can only be used by the party's official candidates. The Election Commission of India recognises the parties that receive these benefits and other special considerations for this purpose. As a result, these parties are referred to as recognised parties.
