उत्तर
A rubber band stretches and reverts back to its original position, it is due to elasticity. Bubble gum stretches, but it would not return to its original position, this is due to plasticity.
- The meristematic cells are rich in protoplasm and possess large conspicuous nuclei. Their cell walls are primary in nature, thin, cellulosic and elastic with abundant plasmodesmata connections.
- Plants follow different pathways in response to the environment or phases of life to form different kinds of structures. This ability is called plasticity, e. g., heterophylly in cotton, coriander and larkspur. In such plants, the leaves of the juvenile plant are different in shape from those in mature plants.
