The liver does not secrete any enzyme yet it helps in digestion it secretes bile which helps in digestion of fats by breaking down fats into tiny droplets to provide a larger surface area for the enzymes to act. This process is called the emulsification of fats. Bile secreted by the liver is stored in the gall bladder. Bile provides an alkaline medium in the duodenum for the action of enzymes of the pancreatic juice
