प्रश्न
Calculate the work done in oxidation of so2(g) at 25°C if, \[\ce{2SO_{2(g)} + O2_{(g)} -> 2SO_{3(g)}}\], R = 8.314 J K−1 mol−1.
संख्यात्मक
उत्तर
Given: \[\ce{\underset{(2 mol)}{2SO_{2(g)}} + \underset{(1 mol)}{O2_{(g)}} -> \underset{(2 mol)}{2SO_{3(g)}}}\]
Δn = 2 − 3 = − 1
Now, work done in above oxidation reaction is,
W = − ΔnRT
= − (− 1) × 8. 314 × 298
= + 2477.5 J
∴ W = 2.4775 KJ
