Describe in brief the role of prostate gland in human male reproductive system.

Prostate glands: It produces an alkaline fluid (prostatic fluid), which is a constituent of the semen. The prostatic fluid provides motility, longer survival period (neutralizes the acidic environment of the female reproductive tract) and protection to sperms.
