Power conversion unit: Robots are powered by batteries, solar power, and hydraulics.

Actuators:

1. Converts energy into movement.
2. The majority of the actuators produce rotational (or) linear motion.

Most robots are composed of three main parts:

(i) The Controller:

1. This is also known as the “brain” which is run by a computer program.
2. It gives commands for the moving parts to perform the job.

(ii) Mechanical parts: Motors, pistons, grippers, wheels, and gears that make the robot move, grab, turn, and lift.

(iii) Sensors:

1. To tell the robot about its surroundings.
2. It helps to determine the sizes and shapes of the objects around, the distance between the objects, and the directions as well.
