प्रश्न
Elucidate any six effects of exercise on muscular system.
दीर्घउत्तर
उत्तर
The primary purpose of the muscular system is to help with movement. The skeletal system's almost 700 muscles are attached to the roughly 500 pounds of bones that make up the human body. The muscular system undergoes certain changes when exercise is done often.
Following changes in our muscular system can be seen if exercises are done on regular basis.
- Hypertrophy of Muscle: The term "hypertrophy" describes an increase in muscular size based on by activity. Gains in muscular strength and endurance are often caused by changes in tissue size. Regular exercise can alter the size and shape of muscles. In actuality, muscles' cells expand, altering the structure and size of the muscle.
- Increases in Strength of Ligaments and Tendons: Ligaments connect bones to other bones, and tendons connect bones to skeletal muscles. The strength of the tendons and ligaments increases with exercise. Strong tendons and ligaments help grow bone mass, protect us from injuries like muscle strains, add to our general strength, and improve performance.
- Muscle Remains in Tone Position: Our muscles maintain their toned state when activities are performed on a regular basis. In fact, muscles continue to contract to some capacity. Muscle tightens and keeps the attachments under a light, constant pull.
- Increase in Lactic Acid Tolerance: Regular exercise helps in managing with lactic acid buildup-induced discomfort and pain. By buffering, lactic acid may be removed more easily and the levels of acidity in the blood and muscles are kept constant. Performers can work at higher intensities for a longer period of time thanks to their increased lactate tolerance. Exercising frequently prevents tiredness. Acid phosphate, lactic acid, and carbon dioxide are the main causes of tiredness.
- Efficiency in the Movement of Muscles: The muscles move more smoothly and effectively when workouts are performed on a regular basis. The movements made while performing various activities become attractive.
- Increase in Size and Number of Mitochondria: Cellular energy is produced by mitochondria using dietary energy. The number of mitochondria grows with exercise, enhancing the body's capacity to produce energy. In other words, the number of mitochondria in your body determines how much energy you can produce during activity and how long and how quickly you can exercise. More mitochondria are present, which results in more muscle energy being produced. Aerobic activity causes mitochondria to grow in size and quantity, allowing them to absorb more oxygen and make more ATP and energy.
- Body Posture Remains Correct: Regular exercise improves muscle strength, which in turn helps to maintain proper posture in the body. Postural abnormalities never happen. Exercise on a regular basis helps to correct any physical imperfections.
- Improves Reaction Time: Regular exercise causes nerve impulses to travel more quickly, which enhances reaction time. These sensations go fast from the neurological system to the muscle fibres through motor nerves. As a result, reaction time is improved.
