Why is energy required for all activities? How can energy be generated? Explain

Energy is the basis of all human activities. We need energy for different purposes like cooking, lighting and heating, running vehicles, and to run machines in industries.
Energy can be generated from conventional sources like coal, petroleum, natural gas and uranium. Wind, sun and water are also important non-conventional sources of energy.
A combustion turbine is used to generate energy from natural gas.
In nuclear power plants, the heat from the nuclear reactors is used to operate steam turbine generators.
Solar panels are used to generate solar energy.
Wind mills generate wind energy.
