The causes of strain/pull are as follows:
- More pressure is exerted to a muscle than it can bear.
- Insufficient warming up, i.e., muscle is not toned properly for the activity.
- Muscles are stiff and tight, and therefore susceptible to injury.
- Lack of flexibility. Overstretching of muscles is susceptible to tear unless one has restored the flexibility by stretching.
- Too much training can also cause injury.
- Lack of physical fitness.
- Poor training methods like inappropriate work load, speed, and resistance.
