- Gametangial copulation: Fusion of gametangia to form zygospore (Example: Mucor, Rhizopus).
- Spermatization: In this method, a uninucleate pycniospore/microconidium is transferred to a receptive hyphal cell (Example: Puccinia/Neurospora)
- Somatogamy: Fusion of two somatic cells of the hyphae
