उत्तर
Correlation is a statistical tool used to measure the relationship between two or more variables. Interdependence between the variables is called correlation. It is measured by Correlation Coefficient which extends between -1.00 to +1.00.
Correlation types include:
- Positive Correlation: Both variables either increase or decrease concurrently. For example, rehearsal duration and recall score. The correlation coefficient ranges between 0.00 and +1.00.
- Negative Correlation: An increase in one variable is associated with a decrease in the other and vice-versa, the value of correlation is found between 0.00 to -1.00. E.g. amount of exercise and level of body fat.
- Zero Correlation: When any change in one variable brings no significant change in the other variable; the value of the correlation coefficient is zero. E.g. height and intelligence.
