Explain with reason the places of interest that can be developed as tourist centres in your district.

Maharashtra is the second state that is mostly visited by foreigners in India, and it is the fourth state that is most visited in the country. Aurangabad is considered as tourism capital of Maharashtra. All the places in Maharashtra are well developed for the tourist spots, but even then there are some places which are hidden and also can be developed as the most beautiful tourist destinations. Some of such places are being discussed below:

The places of interest that can be developed as tourist centres in my district are as follows:

• Alandi: Alandi is popular as a place of pilgrimage and the resting place of the 8th century Marathi saint Sant Dnyaneshwar.
• Lonavala: Lonavala is famous hill station near pune.
• Sinhagad: Sinhagad has historical importance.
• Kamshet: Kamshet is famous for adventure sports like paragliding and oldest caves. Kamshet has a great potential for agro tourism also.
• Uruli Kanchan: Uruli Kanchan village has been famous for the last sixty years for the Naturopathy Center (Nisarg Upchar Ashram) started by Mahatma Gandhi and his disciple Manibhai Desai.
• Thus, Alandi, Sinhagad, Uruli Kanchan are the most suitable places for field visits and educational tourism.
