उत्तर

Fossils are the remains or signs of ancient organisms obtained from rocks. The study of fossils is called Palaeontology, i.e. in palaeontology, the remains of organisms from millions of years ago are studied. The study of fossil scientists makes it clear that what kind of organisms were present on earth in which period. Fossils buried in rocks and earth's crust are dug out. The structure of organisms is imagined from these signs or remains.

By determining the age of rocks, scientists can also determine the estimated age of fossils. Therefore, scientists consider fossils strong evidence of biological evolution. The most familiar examples of fossils are Archaeopteryx and dinosaurs. Dinosaurs were giant reptiles that ruled the earth during the Mesozoic era, which is called the golden age of reptiles.

Fossils of different types of organisms have been found in rocks of different ages, probably buried in them during the formation of that rock. They represent extinct organisms, which makes it clear that the form of life on earth has been changing. Fossils of some human-like bones have been found in Ethiopia and Tanzania. The history of human evolution has been known from the fossils of human ancestors.
