प्रश्न
Find the polar coordinates of points whose cartesian coordinates are :
`(1, sqrt(3))`
योग
उत्तर
(x, y) = `(1, sqrt(3))`
∴ r = `sqrt(x^2 + y^2)`
= `sqrt(1 + 3)`
= `sqrt(4)`
= 2
tanθ = `y/x`
= `sqrt(3)/1`
= `sqrt(3)`
Since the given point lies in the 1st quadrant,
θ = 60° ...`[∵ tan 60^circ = sqrt(3)]`
∴ the required polar co-ordinates are (2, 60°).
