Give details about the types of solid wastes.

1. Domestic waste: Waste from our homes, such as kitchen waste, packaging material, and other discarded items that are no longer in use, constitutes domestic waste. About 90% of domestic waste is directly dumped on land.
2. Industrial waste: The waste that is released by the industrial units during the manufacturing processes is termed industrial waste. The waste from various small and large-scale industries includes building material waste, fly ash, metals, etc. Various types of industrial waste come from: 
   1. Metallurgical industries
   2. Cement industries
   3. Paper and pulp industries
   4. Textile industries
   5. Mining operations
3. Biomedical waste: The waste from hospitals, nursing homes, etc., is termed biomedical waste. It includes discarded needles, syringes, plastic and glass bottles, gloves, expired medicines, blood, tissues, body parts, discarded medical instruments, etc.
4. E-waste: As the IT segment tries to keep pace with every new development in technology, the older computers, mobiles, etc. are discarded as e-waste. Pile after pile of chips and assorted bits and pieces of computers are contributed by IT companies. There is no scientific system of recycling of this e-waste. As the problem of e-waste continues to grow bigger, the need to evolve clean means of disposal has become more urgent. Some private companies are working on scientific recycling of waste. The bulk of e-waste still travels to the scrap yards and the backroom recycler.
