उत्तर

Most of the Himalayan rivers are perennial in nature because

  • Glacial and Rainwater Source: These rivers originate in the Himalayan glaciers and receive year-round water supplies from melting snow.
  • Monsoon Rains: The Himalayan region receives substantial rainfall during the monsoon season, which adds to the flow of these rivers and keeps them from drying up.
  • Large Catchment Areas and Tributaries: The Himalayan rivers have large drainage basins and numerous tributaries that constantly give water to the main rivers, making them perpetual.

Most Himalayan rivers, such as the Ganga, Yamuna, Brahmaputra, and Indus, are perennial and provide a continuous water supply throughout the year as a result of glacial melt and monsoonal rainfall.
