Give the limitations of VBT.

1. It does not explain the high spin or low spin nature of the complexes. In other words, strong and weak field nature of ligands can not be distinguished.
2. It does not provide any explanation for the colour of coordination compounds.
3. The structure of the complexes predicted from the VBT would not always match necessarily with those determined from the experiments.
