After the Bolshevik Revolution, Communist influence in Germany grew significantly. The Communists gained many seats in the Reichstag, increasing their political power. Hitler warned that German Communists would follow the orders of their Russian counterparts and act as their puppets. He convinced the people that only Nazism could stop the rising power of the Communists and protect Germany from falling under their control.
