Accumulated waste easily becomes the breeding ground of mosquitoes, houseflies, rodents etc which can lead to the spread of many diseases like dengue, malaria, plague etc. Further, during the rainy season, wastes may flow down into the river or a small stream and pollute it with plastics and other waste materials.
