How is the methylated spirit obtained?
How is the following obtained:
Methylated spirit?
उत्तर
Methylated Spirit or Denatured Alcohol: The alcohol required for industrial use is rendered undrinkable by the addition of toxic substances. When 5% methyl alcohol is incorporated into ethyl alcohol, it is referred to as methylated alcohol. However, the addition of pyridine and copper sulphate to ethyl alcohol results in denatured alcohol.
