प्रश्न

Identical packets are dropped from two aeroplanes, one above the equator and the other above the north pole, both at height h. Assuming all conditions are identical, will those packets take some time to reach the surface of the earth. Justify your answer.

संक्षेप में उत्तर

उत्तर

The value of acceleration due to gravity is greater at the poles than at the equator. So, the packet dropped at the north pole from a height h, will accelerate more than the packet dropped at the equator from the same height and hence will reach the surface of the earth earlier.
