प्रश्न

If x = −1, y = 2 is a solution of the equation 3x + 4y = k, find the value of k.

उत्तर

Given that

 3 x + 4 y = k

It is given that x = - 1 and y = 2 is a solution of the equation 3x + 4 y = k

∴ 3 × (- 1) × 4 × 2 = k

⇒  - 3 + 8 = k

⇒  k = 5

⇒  k = 5
