प्रश्न
In a park of dimensions 20 m × 15 m, there is a L shaped 1 m wide flower bed as shown in the figure. Find the total cost of manuring for the flower bed at the rate of Rs 45 per m2.
उत्तर
Given, dimensions of a park = 20 m × 15 m and with of a flower bed = 1 m
From the figure,
FG = BC – 1 m = (15 – 1) = 14 m
EF = DC – 1 m = (20 – 1) = 19 m
∴ Area of flower bed = Area of ABCD – Area of EFGD
= 20 × 15 – 19 × 14 ......[∵ Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth]
= 300 – 266
= 34 m2
∵ Cost of maturing 1 m2 of flower bed = ₹ 45
∴ Cost of maturing 34 m2 the flower bed of = ₹ 34 × 45 = ₹ 1530
