प्रश्न
Music CD originally priced at Rs 120 is on sale for 25% off. What is the S.P.?
Sonia and Rahul have different ways of calculating the sale price for the items they bought.
As you work on the next problem, try both of these methods to see which you prefer.
उत्तर
Given, price of CD = 120
Also, discount is 25% of orginal price.
We need to find out selling price.
⇒ Now, we know x% of `n = x/100 xx n`
⇒ 25% discount on Rs. 120 = `25/100 xx 120`
= `120/4`
= Rs. 30
∴ Discount = Rs. 30
⇒ Now, Selling price after discount = Original cost price – Discount
⇒ Selling price after discount = 120 – 30 = Rs. 90
Hence, the selling price is Rs. 90
