President Pranab Mukherjee has signed the ordinance that amends Citizenship Act, 1955. It will also change the clause of the parent Act which says that foreigners who marry Indians must continuously stay in the country for a period of one year before they get Indian citizenship. After two consecutive months of contraction in September and October, Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections in December (for November sales) rose over the Rs. 1-lakh crore mark, a growth of 8.9 percent year-over-year.
