उत्तर

Given, Rama has `6 1/4` kg of cotton for making pillows

i.e. `6 1/4` kg = `((6 xx 4) + 1)/4`

= `(24 + 1)/4`

= `25/4` kg

Where one pillow can be made from `1 1/4` kg

i.e. `1 1/4` kg = `((1 xx 4) + 1)/4`

= `(4 + 1)/4`

= `5/4` kg

∴ Number of pillows = `"Total quantity of cotton available"/"Cotton used in one pillow"`

= `((25/4))/((5/4))`

= `25/4 xx 4/5`

= `25/5`  ......[∵ Division is reverse of the multiplication]

= 5

Hence, Rama can make 5 pillows.
