Physical properties of a metal :

- State : Metals are generally solid at room temperature. Mercury and gallium are liquid metals.
- Hardness : Metals are generally hard.
- Conductivity : Metals in general are good conductors of heat and electricity. Bismuth and tungsten are exceptions.
- Malleability : The property by which metals can be beaten into sheets is called malleability. Metals are generally malleable.
- Ductility : Metals are generally ductile i.e., can be drawn into wires.
