प्रश्न
State one appropriate observation of the following:
A few drops of dilute hydrochloric acid are added to silver nitrate solution, followed by the addition of ammonium hydroxide solution.
State one appropriate observation when a few drops of \[\ce{dil. HCl}\] are added to \[\ce{AgNO3}\] solution, followed by addition of \[\ce{NH4OH}\] solution.
उत्तर
When a few drops of \[\ce{dil. HCl}\] are added to \[\ce{AgNO3}\], a thick, curdy white precipitate of \[\ce{AgCl}\] is formed. When an excess of \[\ce{NH4OH}\] is added to the \[\ce{AgCl}\] precipitate, it forms a complex salt, \[\ce{[Ag(NH3)2]Cl}\], which is soluble in nitric acid.
