प्रश्न
State the change in colour observed in following case mentioning the reason:
A piece of zinc is dipped in ferrous sulphate solution.
उत्तर
The colour of iron sulphate solution changes when zinc is added to iron (II) sulphate solution. Because zinc is more reactive than iron, it displaces iron from its solution of iron sulphate, resulting in the formation of an iron precipitate that is grey in colour and a colourless solution of zinc sulphate.
\[\ce{Zn + FeSO4->ZnSO4 + Fe}\]
