प्रश्न

The ionisation of hydrochloric in water is given below:

\[\ce{HCl (aq) + H2O (l) ⇌ H3O+ (aq) + Cl- (aq)}\]

Label two conjugate acid-base pairs in this ionisation.

उत्तर

The two conjugate acid-base pairs in the ionisation of \[\ce{HCl}\] are \[\ce{(HCl - Cl^{-})}\] in which \[\ce{HCl}\] is the conjugate acid and \[\ce{Cl-}\] is the conjugate base similarly the second pair is \[\ce{(H2O - H3O+)}\] in which \[\ce{H2O}\] is the conjugate base and \[\ce{H3O+}\] is the conjugate acid.
