प्रश्न
The shadow of a pole with height of 8 m is 6 m. If the shadow of another pole measured at the same time is 30 m, find the height of the pole?
उत्तर
Let the required height of the pole be ‘x’ m.
Height of pole in m | 8 | x |
Length of shadow in m | 6 | 30 |
Height of the pole and its shadow are in direct proportion
∴ `(x_1)/(y_1) = (x_2)/(y_2)`
`8/6 = x/30`
x = `(8 xx 30)/6`
x = 40
∴ Height of the pole x = 40 m.
