प्रश्न
The side of a square is 5 cm. How many times does the area increase, if the side of the square is doubled?
उत्तर
Side of the square = 5 cm
∴ Area of the square = Side × Side
= 5 cm × 5 cm = 25 cm2 ......(1)
Side of a new square = 2 ......(Side of the given square)
= 2 × 5 cm = 10 cm
∴ Area of the new square = side × side = 10 cm × 10 cm
