प्रश्न
The total cost of a refrigerator including sales tax is Rs 30,940.If the rate of sales tax is 12%, find the basic price of the refrigerator.
उत्तर
Let the basic price of the refrigerator be x
Rate of sales tax = 12 %
Therefore, total price of the refrigerator =
`"Rs" ("x" + ("x" xx 12)/100)`
= Rs `(112 "x")/100`
Total cost of refrigerator given= Rs 30,940
`therefore (112 "x")/100` = Rs 30940
⇒ 112 x = Rs30, 94, 000
⇒ x = Rs `3094000/112`
⇒ x = Rs 27625
Hence, the basic price of refrigerator = Rs 27,625
