प्रश्न
What are the decisive factors for population density?
संक्षेप में उत्तर
उत्तर
The density of a population in a given habitat during a given period fluctuates due to changes in four basic processes, viz
- Natality i.e. birth rate (the number of births in a particular population during a given period that are added to the initial density).
- Mortality i.e. death rate (the number of people who died in a certain period).
- Immigration i.e. the number of individuals of the same species who arrived in the habitat from elsewhere during the time period in question
- Emigration Specifically, the number of individuals in the population who left their environment and went elsewhere during the time period under examination.
- Natality and immigration increase in population density whereas mortality and emigration decrease it.
