प्रश्न
What are the risks associated with HTTP? How can we resolve these risks by using HTTPS?
उत्तर
The Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is an application layer protocol for hypermedia information systems that are distributed and interactive. HTTP is the standard for data sharing on the World Wide Web, where hypertext documents provide links to other services that the user can reach with a mouse click or by pressing the button in a web browser.
The Transport Layer Security protocol (TLS) offers three main layers of protection for data sent over HTTPS:
Encryption protects transmitted data from eavesdroppers by encrypting it. Nobody can "listen" to a user's messages, monitor their behaviours through several sites, or snatch their details while they are visiting a website.
Data integrity - data cannot be changed or altered during transmission without being observed, whether deliberately or unintentionally.
Authentication verifies that the customers are communicating with the correct website. It defends against man-in-the-middle attacks and increases customer loyalty, which leads to additional market benefits.
