Brain drain is the migration of skilled workers to a country that satisfies their aspirations and monetary needs. Thousands of technocrats, scientists, nurses etc migrate to the western countries every year. The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Assocham) estimates that the brain drain of Indian students cost India $10 billion per year. Remmiting the money back home increases the cash flow in the country resulting in economic development. When the skilled workers return home they bring back new skills and knowledge.
