प्रश्न
What is the significance of atrio-ventricular node and atrio-ventricular bundle in the functioning of heart?
उत्तर
- Atrioventricular node (AVN):
- A tissue group made up of muscles and neural tissues similar to the node is found at the base of the septum between the two atriums, which is called the A.V. node.
- This S.A. Inspired by the impulses of the node, it controls the contraction and relaxation of the ventricles through neural branches called His bundle.
- Atrioventricular bundle (AVB):
- His (His, 1893) first described A.V. I discovered the A.V. node. This later came to be known as ‘Bundle of His’. It is made of a special type of muscle fibre, which is anatomically different from the cardiac muscle. It acts as a connector for inspiration from the right atrium to the ventricle.
- Stimulation A.V. It reaches the septum present in the ventricles through the node, which reaches the Purkinje fibres present in both ventricles through the Bundle of His.
