प्रश्न
What purpose is served by the terminals of a three way pin plug? Draw a diagram and name the pins.
उत्तर
All electrical appliances are provided with a cable having a plug at one end to connect the appliance to the electric supply.
In this three way pin plug, the top pin is for earthing (E), the live pin (L) in on the left and the neutral pin (N) is on the right.
Compared to the other two, the earth pin is longer and thicker. In order to make the earth connection first, the earth pin is longer. Because the fuse will blow out in the event that the appliance malfunctions, this guarantees the user's safety. The earth pin is thicker, making it impossible to accidentally insert it into the socket's neutral or live hole.
