प्रश्न

When an object is placed at a distance of 36 cm from a convex lens, an image of the same size as the object is formed. What will be the nature of image formed when the object is placed at a distance of:

10 cm from the lens?

संक्षेप में उत्तर

उत्तर

The image will be virtual and magnified. We know that a convex lens forms the image of the same size as that of the object when the object is placed at 2f. Thus, the focal length of the lens is 13 cm. In this case, the object is placed between the focus (f) and the optic centre. This position of the object results in the formation of a virtual and magnified image.
