प्रश्न

Which of the following techniques is used for the purification of solid organic compounds?

  1. Crystallization
  2. Distillation
संक्षेप में उत्तर

उत्तर

  1. An impure inorganic component is dissolved in a solvent to create a saturated solution, which is used to purify solid organic molecules. The solvent is heated to a high degree. The insoluble contaminants are then removed from this solution by filtering it out. After that, the solid is filtered out and allowed to dry.
  2. The process of separation of substances from a solution based on their boiling points is called distillation. Since many organic compounds have similar or close boiling points, they can’t be separated using distillation.

Crystallization is used for purification of solid organic compounds.
