प्रश्न
Who discovered cells and how?
उत्तर
- The cell was discovered in 1665 by Robert Hooke. Using a crude microscope he had made himself, he studied a thin slice of cork and noticed that it had many tiny compartments, much like a honeycomb.
- The term "cells" that he gave them is a translation of the Latin word "cellula," which means "a little room."
