प्रश्न

Why infrastructure needs to be upgraded?

दीर्घउत्तर

उत्तर

  1. Infrastructure increases productivity: Economic and social infrastructure facilitates production. The availability of high-quality infrastructure ensures an increase in both output and productivity. Infrastructure facilitates the movement of goods and raw materials, reducing inefficiencies and resulting in the efficient use of scarce resources and the elimination of waste.
  2. Infrastructure encourages investment: Infrastructure creates a favourable environment for investment. The lack of facilities discourages investment. An investor, for example, will not invest in the absence of basic infrastructure such as transportation and communication.
  3. Infrastructure generates linkages in production: Infrastructure encourages economic development through various forward and backward linkages. In other words, infrastructure allows one industry to grow as a result of the growth of another through forward and backward linkages. Economic growth becomes a dynamic process in the presence of adequate infrastructure facilities.
  4. Infrastructure enhances size of the market: Infrastructure expands the market's size. The factors encourage of raw materials and finished goods allows a producer to offer his products across the country and even across international borders.
