प्रश्न
Why is an aneroid barometer called so?
टिप्पणी लिखिए
उत्तर
Aneroid means containing no liquid and the aneroid barometer is evacuated so it tends to collapse under the pressure of air. The stout spring balances the thrust on the metal box due to normal air pressure and prevents the box from collapsing. This type of barometer doesn't contain any liquid so it got its name aneroid barometer.
