प्रश्न
Why was it necessary to bring about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?
उत्तर
During and before the World War II, the Fascist and Nazi rulers of Italy and Germany committed inhuman atrocities against the Jews and indulged in gross violation of fundamental rights and freedom of people under their subjugation. This led to a strong movement for the protection of Human Right. After the end of war, the UN Charter also affirmed its faith in the protection of fundamental Human Rights. In this background the UN General Assembly adopted the ‘Universal Declaration of Human Rights’ on 10th December, 1948.
