प्रश्न
Why was the Simon Commission rejected by the Congress?
Why was the Simon Commission boycotted by the Indians?
उत्तर १
The Simon Commission was rejected by the Congress as it had no Indians members. This was seen as a violation of the principle of self-determination by the members of the Congress.
उत्तर २
The Indians boycotted the Simon Commission because it had no Indian members. The fact that the British government thought it appropriate to leave out Indians from an institution that was to decide the political future of their country was considered a grave insult. Since the Commission was completely unrepresentative of Indian concerns, it was decided to boycott it completely.
